Edward and Jacob are from a book. Twilight by Stephanie meyer haha. I believe the author was inspired by several songs, this being one of them.

I totally agree. I love the song, but to me it's even better acoustically. More heartfelt and real. Maybe that's just because it's live though. Nevertheless, it's great.
